Sorry if this has been asked before but I am new to the forum and new to Photoshow. I keep my photos in various directories on my D: drive. For example, my latest vacation photos are kept in the d:\2006vacation directory. When I want to manage the photos in photoshow, it looks like If I understand how the program works, if I want to create a photoshow, it looks like the program essentially copies ALL of the jpg files into another directory c:\documents and settings\Doug2\Application Data\Nero\Photoshow II\2006vacation.

This seems like a great waste of space but is this how the program is supposed to work?

    Thanks,

    Doug

Check the below url for an answer, but it appears you are correct in the operation. There should also be an option to add Watched folders, which may not move them, a little hard to say for sure.

I did check out that faq but did not really find an answer to what I was asking. I was also having problems deleting an image from one of my photoshows (the program would crash with some message about macromedia projector). So I deleted the image from the photoshow directory and now the photoshow is completely gone (at least as the photoshow program is concerned). It seems like doing anything at all to the the files in the photoshow directory (outside of the photoshow program) completely confuses photoshow. Is there any way of retrieving the missing photoshow or do I have to totally recreate it?

    Thanks,
    Doug

I don't use Photoshow, so I can't help much, but do you still have the photo you deleted and can you reinsert it?

The FAQ says you can add photos to the directory without going through PhotoShow and they will be added. It appears it scans the folder and puts the information somewhere. If you knew where it kept the information, you might be able to edit that photo out.

Yeah--I tried recopying the file into the photoshow directory but, when starting photoshow, that particular photoshow does NOT show up. It seems like there should be some option in the program to "rediscover" photoshows that are actually there.
