    Hi all,

I'm hoping someone can help with this. I received a "Box PVR" recently and ever since I have had it, it has had a band rotating up the screen on ever channel. The picture its-self is steady and I am able to get almost all channels, so I don't think its the signal. I have tried the composite, s-video and scart outputs from the back of the box to the amp and all three produce the same band on the screen - I have also tried to connect straight to the TV with the same results. I also tried to convert the scart signal to component using a 3rd party converter that has worked on a normal Satellite receiver - again this produced a band going up the screen but was much much worse.

Has anyone else had this problem and managed to resolve it? I think it may be a technical fault with the hardware but thought I should ask here first.

    Thanks for your help.

Have you tried a higher grade scart with better shielding?

    Hi
I haven't seen this problem before on the Starview PVR but if sc0user's try with a better scart lead doesn't improve things I have a couple of suggestions as this could be an interferance related problem from something nearby,(DVD Recorder, Satellite box, PC, you mention an amp nearby?) try taking the PVR into another room away from everything else and connect it to a different TV preferably with the scart connection. Another idea would be to take the PVR to a friend or relatives house and try it on their TV. If still the same I would suspect a hardware fault possibly in the power supplies stability or a fault inside the PVR and hope you are able to return it as faulty from where you purchased it.
