I have a Cyberhome DVR1600. I'm trying to transfer non copy protected tapes to DVD. When I have the VCR hooked to the DVD Recorder, the picture on the TV flashes. If I try to record, then it either says the signal is unstable or it will record and the video on burned DVD will have the flashes. The tape doesn't even have to be playing. It does not flash if I'm watching cable TV using the recorder's TV tuner. It also does not flash when I just hook the VCR directly to the TV and watch the tapes. I searched the net and some people say it might be a weak video signal, because of the age of the tapes, and that the DVD recorder mistakes that for Level 1 Macrovision. I have seen devices for around $100 that will fix this I think, but I really dont want to spend that much. Anyone here have any thoughts as to how to fix this problem.
