I have downloaded a few movies as opposed to copying them but some are small pictures. If done on widescreen or normal i get a thick black strip at top and bottom of screen....can this be altered in any way to get rid of it or is it because of the type of movie file...i am using nero 7...thnks....

Most of the stuff floating around is wide screen (with bars) as that is the preferred format. I guess you'll have to look for Full Screen if that's what you want.

Bars depend on the ratio. 1.78:1 (16:9) smaller bars. 2.40:1 large bars.

Well I`m not a film expert, but convertxtodvd (FromVSO) will convert downloads to Dvd in the desired format 16:9 or Full screen..which speaks for itself
    My experience is 50/50.
What I mean by that is some files just won`t convert properly. The figures all appear as in a house of mirrors or squashed..or both!
This sometimes due to the fact that the file, made available for downloading, is actually a "film of a film". In other words recorded in the cinema, replete with people standing up to get popcorn or an ice etc.. and you may get problems with your "thick black strip at top and bottom of screen"
    Trial and eric!(error)
