I downloaded a DVD of Phil Collins, Live in Berlin. It plays fine using WinDVD on my compouter playing from either the files, or from the burned DVD-R. But in my home DVD player the picture rolls. If the picture rolled all the time it wouldn't be such a puzzle.

    Idea?

    Thanks

Is the picture also in black and white while it rolls?? If yes it sounds like you are playing a PAL video format on a NTSC player and TV. Thats usually the playback problem you get with the wrong video format. This is just a quick guess at your problem.

Yep. It is in B&W. Crap.....what a waste of time and bandwidth to even download the file. A good reason to always identify a file that you upload. I'll do some searching and see if it can be fixed.

    Thanks

BTW Why does it play correctly on a computer?

Most PCs are powerful enough to handle almost any video format. I think Nero Vision Express can convert Pal to NTSC or the other way. Expect the conversion to take some time.

Ok, thanks. I tried VOB Blanker, and it didn't work. I'll have to try something else.
