I have just bought the pioneer 105, it work fine with nero and the media 4x infiniti media I'm using, although I have only burnt iso files at 4x and the recotding time for 1.5 gb was about 1/2 hour? I was told it would burn 4.7GB in 15 minutes at 4x?

The dvd playback on ati player and powerdvd is also very slow and choppy, I have a P3 500mhz with 256mb of 133 SDRAM. The graphics card is a ATI 64mb radeon 7200.

Is my pc just not good enough to playback dvd using this drive with software decoding or is there an issue with data transfer on the drive?

    Please help!!!

I think you might be pushing the limit a little.
I have a P-III 650MHz it had problems just playing DVDs. I didn't even try burning. I upgraded the video card and now it works great for playing. I used a 32MB video card BTW.

I thought I remembered the specs for the player were about 400-500MHz min.

Where have you been come up to speed man. Just kidding.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

It's normal your pc it's to weak. On the instructions booklet it says minimum 800 mhz(for pioneer a-05) and you are running a 500 mhz. I'm using an Amd 900 mhz and I can reach that 15-20 min for a 4.7 gb dvd.
