I recently upgraded my operating system from windows 98 to XP Pro, and now my Pioneer 106s DVD ROM will not play properly. Do I need to download new firmware or something? And if so, where do I find it, and is there a specific procedure to follow? The O/S change did not seem to affect my CD RW, as it appears to be working as before. I am currently using Driver Version 5.1.2535.0 - van.__X_X_X_X_X_[small]vanderdude[/small]

Dont need to upgrade your firmware. The only differance is the file allocation table that xp is meant to use could be causing problems. You are now running xp on FAT32 and had this setup at first and my A106 was very slow. My advise back up any files you need and do a clean install of Xp so you will be using NTFS.
