Im not sure where the problem is but I have not been able to burn isos on regular DVDs at 2x. I have a Pioneer 112D with latest firmware, and using Verbatim Discs. I have tried in ImgBurn and CloneCD and each time I select 2X, it just defaults to 4X. I thought it might be the disks since I was using 16X discs but I found some older Verbatim 1-8X discs and got the same result. ImgBurn lists 4x as the slowest write speed when it shows the compatible speeds. Again, I dont know if this is something with the drive or firmware, but I have eliminated that it would have been the discs and I am just writing image files that should write at any speed. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
I am sorry if this is a silly question...really dont think it is though. I would really appreciate someone's perspective on this. Thanks.
Well, maybe the drives firmware won't let you burn that slow. Outside of burning DL discs, I don't understand why you would want to burn that slow. You're apt to get read errors by burning at 2x.
