Got this trouble with my Pioneer A06.

Though it states that it's capable of reading DVDs (comercial ones) at a read speed of 6x. I can not get the blasted thing to read at more than 2.1x (as said by DVD Decrypter or SmartRipper).
I'm working with WIN-XP pro, and sys info says the Pioneer is on a UDMA channel, not a PIO one.
Does anybody know a way to make it read at its nominal speed?

It will read at 6x no problem. However, when ripping a disc, it will not to try to discourage from copying DVD Video. You need a Firmware Update. Wait a while and Gradius will release an RPC 1 upgrade. This will increase your ripping times and make it multi-regional.

Yeah, i would expect it to be out within a couple of weeks. Its a Gradius update you will be looking for - RPC 1
