Pioneer A06U Abuse

    Well I had it for about a month now and pretty much abused it like crazy, burning non-stop for hours on end ....still working!

    I only tried a few brands of blank media but so far I found:

    -I hate 2X anything (DVD-R & DVD+R), coaster city for my batch of 2X Princo DVD-R for movies, okay for DATA.
    -my pioneer burner and player loves Memorex 4X DVD+R, haven't have a coaster yet after 50 disc burned.

    Well that's it for now, just sharing info :)

    Your problem with 2X is that you were using Princo. Memorex is a much better disc.

    Actually there are a few problems with the A06 and 4x media. He/she is not the only one to experience this. Check for a new firmware up grade from Gradius website. Search Graduis and firmware and pioneer in google.
