I have done the latest firmware upgrade (1.14) from Pioneers web page and I dont see a difference. It still says it's burning at 2X to 2.9X. It doesn't matter which media (SONY -R/+R, TDK -R/+R, Philips -R
Any one have a clue to what is wrong, more upgrades CPU settings etc?

Check to see id drive is running in DMA or PIO mode. If in PIO it could explain slow burning. In Device Manager, IDE channels, drive properties, Check enable DMA for each drive and reboot. If the burner goes back to Pio would have to disable/remove the IDE channel that the drive is on from the Device Manager. Then reboot and windows will find it again as "new hardware" but now with DMA enabled.
