I just recently purchased a pioneer bdc 202 for my computer, and when I went to install drive I couldn't get the four pin audio cable to plug in. The plug on the audio cable was to big. It looks like the drive has a four pin plug for audio connection in back, on the far left.My first question is, Do I even need a audio cable, or does the drive use the sata cable to transfer audio to motherboard?.Question two,the four pin audio cable that I'm using is about 5 years old, could it be out dated?,or is the player a defect.I just like to know how to get the audio to my motherboard.
im sure you've completed the installation by now and answered your own question, but you do not need any audio cables from the drive to you mobo. I have thesame drive. Get superb dolby 5.1 and DTS via the S/DIF output on mobo going into a surround sound AMP.
