Right This is my set up

    Pioneer DVR-105 Firmware was 1.21 now 1.3
    Windows 2k Pro
    Nero 5.5.10.20
    Record Now 3.0
    DVD-R Media:
    Datawrite 4x speed 4.7GB
    Some unbranded 2x speed 4GB

Ok, im not having problems backing up my DVDs everything is fine there, however the speed in which they are burning seems a bit slow. Basically to back up a 4000MB DVD movie it is taking me about 40 minutes. As the pioneer burns at 4x surely this should be half. In Nero and Recordnow it says it is burning at 4x but I think it is more likely 2x because I have some 2x DVD-r and when I back up the same movie it still takes around 40 mins at 2x.

Any ideas on this would be much appreciated._X_X_X_X_X_[small]PC Nutter[/small]

Right, just found this on the Pioneer website:

    Write Support DVD-R 1x, 2x* and 4x*
    DVD-RW 1x and 2x*
    CD-R 16x, 12x, 8x and 4x
    CD-RW 8x and 4x

*Only when Certified 4x or 2x media is used

So does that mean i have to use some sort of certified media?

    Hope not.

Sorted, 4000mb in 13 mins ;). It was because I did not have DMA enabled on my drives.
