I just got an external DVR-106D for Christmas. As it is the first burner I have ever owned I don't know what is normal during play/record as far as the noise level produced by the unit. During play/record the unit produces a very loud buzzing sound that is so loud I am unable to hear anything on my speakers. It is not the cooling fan because it runs fairly silent. Does this indicate some type of defect? Thanks in advance.... Mark
Well I think that Christmas is not the right time to be in a forum. I have the same Pioneer and it does not create more noise than my DVD when I am playing a disc. Is the sound coming from the device or the PC speakers? If it comes from the speakers then try to move the DVD-R away from your sound card, if it comes from the device, I suggest you have it checked.
