    I've been using memorex dvd-r's and they work in both set top boxes I have, panasonic rv26 and apex 3201. Just started ordering online, check pricewatch.com for some vendors; there are some verrrry cheap generic disks available, less than a buck, so I ordered some of each to find out if they are any good. some vendors offer a sample pack that you might want to try.
