I've recently setup a new 37 inch tv Sony Bravia V5500. Full HD latest model etc and i've got to say i'm a little disappointed. Nearly every channel (some channels are worse than others) looks pixelated. It's mainly around the faces and how bad it is depends on the shot type. I realise that getting freeview (UK) and putting it on a 37" won't always look perfect, but this is worse than I expected. I've had a guy in to look at it and all he thought I needed was a new cable in the loft. The downstairs TV really improved after that (21 inch), but it hasn't made any difference with my TV. Any clue how to improve it? I've looked through the settings and other than brightness, colour etc there doesn't seem to be many options that would effect the pixelation. I've found a couple of things on the internet which have spoken about which direction the aerial is pointing in, but the guy that came didn't think that had anything to do with it. Could it be that? Or possibly to do with the extra cable that's going from the downstairs TV up to my upstairs TV (the bigger one). I'm not really sure in which direction to throw my money Any tips would really help.
Cheers, I already posted at AV Forums (in the HD section mind) and didn't get much response, before this place was recommended by a friend.
Have you tried watching a dvd ? If the dvd is ok looking, then it would suggest the signal is low quality on the freeview. Looking at the spec of the tv its shouldn't have this problem unless the signal is poor?
