plagued by popups

    I recently installed cable high-speed internet and use AVG Free antivirus, Adaware 2007 and have tries a variety of popup stoppers all claiming to be among the best including 12 Ghosts and stopzilla and nothing seems to stop those GOD-D#*N POPUPS FROM PLAUGING MY PC or Laptop! Even when I am running without a direct link to the Internet! I am sure I am doing all the right things including running all the necessary scans and running Popup protections in full tilt!!!

    Can anybody tell me some way to rid myself of this neusance once and for all???
