I've been using Vision Express to burn my Windows Photo Stories to dvd. Hitherto with complete success. Now my disk plays fine on our Pioneer dvd player, and others, but playing the disk on my Dell PC (and I suspect any other) with Windows Media Player, only picture comes through, all audio is dead. What has gone wrong (or maybe, what am I doing wrong that I wasn't before?)
Try playing the disc with VLC Media Player. If it plays fine then the problem with Windows Media Player is probably a missing codec. If it doesn't play fine than I don't know. I've never found something VLC couldn't play.
Thanks a lot, that was spot on. I found out the codec I was missing, got it, and performance is now fine. I'm a bit surprised EMP 11 doesn't come with all codecs that are likely to be needed, but there...
Yeah it is a big mistake on Microsofts part. In the new Windows operating system Windows 7 Microsoft is going to include a LARGE amount of codecs by default. Also there is a video program called GSpot that can analyze a video file and tell you everything about it including what codec the video was encoded with, i.e. the codec you need to play it.
