Hi, I am trying to make a backup of my wedding dvd (of which they kindly only gave me 1 copy) and received a 'Data Cyclic Redundancy Check error' message everytime I tried to copy 2 of the 5 .VOB files. And even during playback, it would stop and freeze half way through... My ultimate aim is to get these MP2 files and rededit our wedding video using ULEAD Software. Anyhows, managed to fix the problem by using the excellent cdcheck.exe utility to copy the VOB files from the dvd to the hard drive. However, when I attempt playback through windows media player, all I get is a black screen but I do get the sound. I downloaded a codec checker called AVIcodec_1.2_b107.exe and it confirmed that all the codecs were already installed to run the .VOB file. Im not sure what to do now... any help would be very much appreciated. Rev ps. The VOB file which I am having problems with do seem to play with my Intervideo DVD player from the disc though (albeit freezing now and then )!!!
It's ok... Ulead Videosuite plays the file so am able to continue editing. However, not sure why Media Player does not ! A guess, but I suppose a codec issue !
