I recently purchased a multi media player so I can watch avi files direct on my tv. I have found some avi files are not working properly. They play ok to a point then the video freezes but the audio keeps going. The files are all from the same provider. Can I fix this problem pls?

AVI files are not all the same.
You should use a tool such as Gspot, to investigate the files,
it will reveal audio and video codecs, and other detailed info.

Compare the videos that play Vs. those that don't.

G Spot was able to show what I suspected that these files had common codec. AVI Recomp worked brilliantly in that by recompressing the avi file it now works perfectly on my stand alone multimedia player. Thanks so much. I only wish I had asked sooner.
