Hello, Pirst and foremost I do hope that I am posting this in the correct forum as this is where my research has lead me. In case I am mistaken please accept my apologies and simply point me in the right direction. When playing back any sort of video, be it a dvd or an .avi file, it only plays on the primary display and is blanked out on the other screen. I am primarily using media player classic but it happens in power dvd as well. My research suggests that this is some sort of copy protection scheme but truly it is an inconvenience at best. The workaroud I found is to change my primary display from my monitor to my tv when I feel like watching movies on my television. Is there a way to display the video source on both screens so I do not have to mess with settings every time I want to watch a movie? I am running Windows XP with a 7900 gt video card with my primary display being an lcd and the secondary display a television connected via s-video. Thank you in advance!
Your problem would be that hardware overlay is only active for the primary display. Try setting MPC to VMR7/9 renderless or Haali's renderer.
