Hello all; Heres my problem. With about half of the movies that I have burned lately they will get about 70% into playback when some problems start to arise. First they will begin to skip slightly getting progressively worse, then after a few more minutes it will begin to pixilate, and finally lock up the DVD player. Using a JVC XV-M567 player, older but it has not given me any problems in the past. It does of course play perfectly in the BenQ drive using PowerDVD. Right now I am using a BenQ DW1655 and TYG02 media. The Nero scan below is of a movie that failed to playback properly, but still has a quality score of 96. For ripping I'm running AnyDVD in the background, and using a combination of Shrink, DVDDecrypter and DVDFab Decrypter. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Unique Disc Identifier : [DVD-R:TYG02] ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Disc & Book Type : [DVD-R] - [DVD-R] Manufacturer Name : [Taiyo Yuden Co. whats your speed of burn? and how much compression you you doing? may need to lower the output setting to 4300mb so not burning to outer edge of disc maybe? may be bad batch of discs or fakes?
Burning at 8x however I get the same results at 4x. I purchased the media from SuperMediaStore.com, which was reccomended by either someone here or at cdfreaks. The compression varies also. Some are down to 50%, but most of the time I backup only the main movie file and dump unneeded audio to keep the video quailty high. I am going to try not burning to far to the edge of the disc, but even still, when the video starts chopping up it is only about 70%ish into playback and I wouldn't think that data would be written on the outer edge. Thanks
hi yeah try it, from what you say its usually too much too close and can start going at half way 50% if too packed... what app you useing to compress??? i always go 4x
TYGO2s are top notch media ,and your never going to get fakes from SMS ,try playing them back on a different dvd player a freinds etc. and see if the same thing happens. are you using the lastest verison of anydvd? that movie did cause some problems. when you put the movie(decrypted) in your PC is anydvd showing it with NO protection on it? try using different media also BenQ drives are fond of Verbatim my bet its your dvd player
