Hi there, I used to use Powerdvd to playback dvds and dvd-r, but it stard«ted having a weird problem, the film would freeze after a certain amount of playback time (about an hour or so...). Then I formated my hard drive and installed windvd. Now I think the problem is even worst, the constantly skips backwards a determined amount of time, and if i dont skip the chapter it wont stop doing this (plays 5 minutes and then goes back to play those 5 minutes over and over again). Has anyone had this problem? How can I fix this? The funny thing is that Windows media player works great all the time (but has great image quality issues...).

    Thanks

hi there, im having the exact same problem with powerdvd. the film freezes for a long time and sometimes it will resume playback but again after a few more quick pauses. in fact im typing this right now as my film is frozen.

after closing down powerdvd i restart it, but then i get an saying my tv port is not enabled or something like dat, and a copyright message.

in fact its just started again by chance - lets see how long this lasts

i used to get the error saying my tv port is not enabled too so a mate said maybe my dvd drive could have become locked to region 1 instead of 2 because i used to play both region dvds .
so he recomended i install dvd region free and then it would play any dvd fine
i think you could try it or try any other software what makes your dvd drive region free
plenty of software available at this site what can do it
    hope i helped
