I'm playing movies that i backed up "sahara bewitched" they play fine in my computer but on my jvc dvd player the scramble up picture is distorted colors streak etc? It's like watching direct tv while the weather is very bad. They don't do this till a average of around 40 minutes or so in the movie. What seems to be the problem any takers?

    There are some likely causes:

    Poor quality media.
Burning at too high a speed.

Good quality media are Verbatim, Taiyo Yuden, and most Sony, Fuji, and Maxell labeled as made in Japan.

Most limit burn speeds to 4x or thereabouts even though they have faster labeled media. A good rule of thumb is not to burn faster than 1/2 the media's rated speed, although I seldom go above 4x regardless.

It's also possible something is wrong with your player. Do all your disks playback with these problems or just the latest burned ones.
