I hope I've posted this in the right forum, if not please forgive me. I burned a dvd to my hardrive that I later burned to a dvd, when I tried playing the dvd after it burned it keeps stopping, stalling or skipping, while the version on my system plays fine. I've burned stuff before and after using the same method they are all fine. Looking at the original dvd I do notice some very fine scratches, could that be the problem, if so why would the copy on my system play without problems and is there anything that I can do to get it to burn properly. I usually use either copytodvd or AoA DVD copy.

Any help at all would be hugely appreciated.

The scratches could be a problem.

What media did your burn the movie to?

    What was your burn speed?

there were 2 movies 1 was burned with Ridata and the other was a Fuji, both burned at 8X I believe. What I don't understand is if there were scratches to begin with, why would the copy that I burned to my system not have a problem, it plays fine, it's only the ones that I burned to DVD.

Try some different media and keep your burn speed to 4X.

I don't use either of those programs, so I can't really help you with those.

I thought you said the scratches were on the DVD you tried to play.

Thanks for trying to help, I tried what you suggested and thought it was working since it did get further into the movie but it started getting messed up again, I don't have a clue. But thanks again.

Why don't you try some other program to burn with?

Do the ones you use produce a burn log? Perhaps that would tell us something?

If you upgraded your media and still having problems, it must be something with the burn process.
