I got a message stating "Playback Prohibited Due To Area Limitations" after I burned a DVD using Shrink. I left the region code REGION FREE and it still gave me this error message. I then popped the DVD in my computer and tried using media player to play the movie and all I got was sound. Funny thing is, Nero Showtime plays the DVD with no problem. The burn completed successfully without any error indidcations. Any help here fellas?

Alright, just figured out how to do those things you mentioned earlier...same results. Now, I opened the disc with Nero Vision and to my surprise the video is in PAL format. There a way I change it to NTSC?

    hi

yes for main movie only that is! rip with dvd dercypter in files mode and check setting to rip main movie only this time!

then load the ifo file from the main movie to avi2dvd set ntsc and 16.9 or 4.3 and let it go!

Thanks for your help. Right now I'm using Nero Vision Express and it does the job quite well with minimal errors, the only downside is that it takes about an hour and a half for transcoding and recoding into NTSC.

haza12d - what also could be causing your problem is your DVD player might not be compatible with RegionFree DVDs. Some DVDplayers (standalones in particular) were designed to reject any DVD that is attempted to play but the Regioncode is set to 0. Sony's DVDplayers are known for this.

On the otherhand, there are now DVDs that can scan your DVDplayer's regioncode upon inserting the disc and the player atempts to start playback. IF this Recioncode Enhanced (RCE) disc detects your player is a RegionFree/ Multiregion player , you will get an error telling you blahblah this disc is intended for playback in blahblah (whatever region only) please set your region to whatever region OR contact the manufactur of this player.

I didn't realize that the format I was burning it in was PAL, thats whats causing the playback error. I'm now using Nero Vision Express to convert into NTSC and burn, but it takes a hell of a long time. :)
