I searched the site and others to try to figure this out but couldn't find exactly what i wanted.

I have a lite-on dvdrw ldw-411s (and another dvd player that came with the computer). I just bought one of those Imax 3d box sets that you plug into your computer and everything is 3d. I bought my computer at best buy in america and we just moved to china a month ago. So these movies are PAL movies and when i try to play them with windows media or WinDVD it says, "Windows Media Player cannot play this DVD because a compatible DVD decoder is not installed on your computer."

What I tried was right click the dvd in 'my computer', 'explore', 'video ts', and i click the 'video_ts' ifo file and i can see the menu perfect and the movie plays perfectly...except there is absolutely no sound at all.

I don't want to burn the DVD and make it an NTSC because it takes so much time and I am usually very busy. I also downloaded something called 'DVD43' which i read in another topic similar to this that that might work but it didnt. I can play the dvd on our dvd player and everything and it works perfectly fine except for the 3d part because that needs to be plugged into the computer

Sorry sorry, it was an easy solution to a stupid question. Wasn't the fact that I live in China that messed me up, and it had nothing to do with the DVD player. I kept searching after I posted this and found an answer that was kind of odd yet worked, it was to download powerdvd so I did that and it works beautifully once again and I'm enjoying my 3d :p

So sorry about noobing this thread up but I found my answer so you can delete if you want. Thanks
