    Hey all.

I have been downloading certain .avi files, and they play on my PC perfcetly in BS Player. I would just like to know if it's possible to play these back on a dvd player using a CD-R!

The dvd player will play vcd/svcd/cd-r/cd-rw/mp3...etc, and i would like to know how to correctly burn the .avi onto a cd-r for playback in my dvd player! Do i need a crtain program like Nero or Roxio etc...?

    Thanks in advance.
    Phoenix ;)

    Hi there,

Unless you have a brand new DVD Player, that supports & plays "Divx/Xvid" format files, you will need to convert those files before you can view them on your DVD Player.

If you have a DVD Burner, you can use VSO DivxToDVD to convert the .AVI to DVD format, then burn on DVD Media.

If all you have is a CD burner, you will need an other software to convert those .AVI into SVCD or VCD and burn (Probably more than 1 cd) onto CD-R media.

http://www.imtoo.com has nice software, maybe it has one that converts .AVI to SVCD.
