ok so i am softmodded first off. I am running unleashX and also xbmc. I have successfully copied the game from the xbox to an iso on the pc and extracted it on the xbox in it's own folder. xbmc recognizes the icon for the game and unleashX recognizes the game title but both freeze. xbmc just goes to a black screen and unleashX just goes to "loading bla bla bla" Am I missing a step here? is there something i need to patch? or am I S.O.L.? thanks for any insight!
Why didnt you just put the disk in the xbox and copy it from there to the games directory on the hdd? Sounds like you may have corrupted files, or maybe the settings for game directory files is messed up. Why would you use xbmc to launch the game anyway? It's much easier to just go to "games" from the UX dash.
it's not in the games directory as the dvd drive is messed up in the xbox...hense the long copy/iso session..
sorry. was a little woohoo last night...anyway I cant use the dvd drive in the xbox to play my games. any game about 1/4 way in or if I skip a movie cut scene i skips to a black screen and sais unable to read disc it might be scratched.
I did try that...thats kinda what I was hinting around since my drive is bad. Ok lets use this game. Prince of persia Warrior Within. First off We do own the game (well my son got it for christmas) dvd drive started having errors so I found a rip of it online. Checked the comments, people say it works, yada yada. But not for me.i tried a few different extractors for the iso...I cant remember all of the names but simple xiso was one of them and it wouldnt extract the whole thing..just a few menu's. tried a few other ones with the same thing happening then I found, I think it was xxxiso and it was able to extract the whole thing. But nothin I launch the default.xbe in the directory I rip it to on the xbox and it just freezes
All my games on my xbox hard drive are in folder form not iso. Try using a pc program called craxtion if you have an iso. With this program there is an option to extract the game from a disk. Once the game is in a folder you can ftp it to the xbox hard drive. Im not sure if this will work with a real game in your disk drive because I never tried.
I dont ever use the iso's on my hdd. I use an app called CloneXB to extract all the files. You set it up so that the app keeps all the temp files in a game folder. Then i delete the rebuilt iso file it creates and just ftp the game folder over.
If your still having problems try a diffrent game and see what happens. I think the game your using is missing some files. You can also check the settings on your dash and make sure the game region is on auto detect.
Lol, ok i think we are both basically doing the same thing..but mine sucks. I get the iso from a source online, extract the iso on my computer to a folder, then I ftp to my xbox and copy the folder from my pc to my f: drive on the xbox. then I try to launch the default.xbe file in the directory i copied and i get nothin..just frozen
