playing download through windows media lpayer

downloaded a file and its asked me for codec to play any help please

 

What type of file is it.
Drag it onto GSpot and examine the Video and Audio to see which codec is required.

VLC is a better player than WMP, it will play most formats without requiring codecs be installed and can easily be uninstalled without problems..
