I read up on the backing up sticky and it seems theres a way to play a game without having it on a disk, but streaming it through your computer and onto the cube. That sounds awesome! It sounds like the perfect workaround for the many DISK READ ERRORS and the laser death problems that alot of people are worried about.

Could someone tell me how to do this with a Viper GC Extreme using the USB adapter? Or maybe point me to a site.

You can't. It's not designed to nor is it fast enough to do so.

If you want to stream games, you'll need a BBA.

According to Brakken, ViperGC Extreme only has USB 1.1 even though they claim it to be USB 2.0, so it's not nearly as quick as they claim.

I guess what they meant by bi-directional is that you can use it to back-up games and flash to it's onboard memory.
