playing MP3's over network (or something like that)

    Hey AfterDawn crew!

Okay... here's a toughie (I think)... I have two computers (well, three actually, but let's leave the laptop out of this one 'cause it's so old it'd make a better paperweight than a computer) on my network. One of them has all my MP3's on it (that would be this computer... I'll give the specs later on) and the other is my webserver (see below for specs).
What I want to do is this:
Install a wireless network card in server and move it across the room and hook the soundcard up to the stereo (that would be the easy part) and configure Winamp or some media player to recieve an audio stream from this computer; on this computer, I'd like to be able to open an MP3 in Winamp or some media player and stream the audio to the webserver and play the streamed audio.
I have the network for it and already have the wireless network card ready and waiting for a reason to use it... all I need to do is to figure out (with some help from you guys and gals) how to do the streaming audio part of it.
Oh... and before I forget, here's this computer's and the webserver's specs:
    This machine)500MHz K6/2, 256mB RAM, WinXP Pro Corp. Ed., 8gb 5400RPM EIDE and 40gb 7200RPM EIDE drives
    Webserver)200MHz P1, 128mB RAM, Win2K Pro, 4gb 4000RPM IDE and Seagate 2gbST32120A and 8gb ST38421A drives

Thanks in advance for any help you folks can give me,
    ambrandt

    Hey everyone!
Okay... so I asked in the chatroom and, taking the advice I was given in there, I installed and setup ShoutCast and I tested it across the wired network (works perfect). Now, I'm having problems with getting my wireless PCI card to work.
It's a Motorola WPCI810G (one of these little buggers... http://broadband.motorola.com/consumers/products/wpci810g/ )... I picked it up at Savers for like $7 (nice deal).
Anyway, I install the software and the card like it says in the Quick Start thing and on the CD, reboot, all that stuff and it chooses an IP that's off my network, even though I tell it to connect to my base station (which is a Microsoft MN-500... it's 802.11B). I can force it to use an IP in the 192.168.x.x range manually, but it still won't have internet access for some reason (the PCI card automatically picks an IP in the 169.x.x.x range). So, at this point, I'm wondering if I won't be able to stream a ShoutCast broadcast wirelessly to the stereo like I want to... I'm sure it wouldn't be too hard to get a really long ethernet cable and run a long wire from the router to behind the stereo (though I would then have a wireless PCI card that isn't being used for anything).
If anyone has any suggestions, that would be awesome. I just want this to work somehow 'cause it'd be really cool (and I'm sure I'd learn a thing or two about networking).

Okay... I talked to a guy in the antispyware chatroom I hang out in for any ideas he might have and he recommended trying the latest drivers from Motorola's website (which I did do, but not the right way... I tried the new drivers without removing the old ones first and with the PCI card inserted). This time, I removed the old drivers and all that, installed the new drivers, installed the PCI card and it worked like a charm.
So, yeah... I got it working (if anyone wants, they can try my website... http://mainsite.servehttp.com , which is now wireless thanks to that card working). Tomorrow, I'll set it up next to the stereo and see how it works (too late at night for that now).
