Just bought a new computer with high hopes of watching DVDs on it but am encountering some issues. Let me explain from the beginning. 1. Tried playing DVD in WMP/Media Player Classic - sound was fine but picture was slow to update and not smooth, so.... 2. Thought it might be the DVD drive so ripped the DVD to HD - got the same problem. 3. Decided to try WinDVD. This time sound ok but no picture, just a blank screen. I was even able to use the menu buttons on the title screen but not able to see what they were. At this time WMP/Media Player Classic still capable of playing although with the same issues. 4. Thought maybe it was CODEC problem. Installed NIMO Codec Pack. Made no difference at all. 5. Tried the K-Lite CODEC pack. Now it gets interesting. WinDVD now plays back with no picture AND no sound. Media Player Classic is now the same - no picture, no sound. Windows Media Player now plays back with picture but no sound. Interestingly, the picture on WMP is now considerably smoother! I'm completely confused. Can anyone help?
after a restart, I now have audio back on WinDVD and Media Player Classic but still no picture. Windows Media Player however works fine. Can anyone help me to get WinDVD working?
