Has anyone seen the PlayStation 9 commercial before? It was advertised a long time ago by SONY talking about features of the PS9. spam removed You can see the commercial at the page above. Do you think it is realistic?
I remember that... But seeing as how the world's gonna end in 2012, I don't think we'll get the chance to ever see it. Whoo, conspiracy theories! As far as realism, I don't think there's going to be anything nearly as psychotic as that, because then you'd be in danger of actually hurting yourself. ...or at least that's what I'm thinking. Spores in your brain? Jumping down fifty-story buildings? Sounds like the same thing mushrooms can do for you.
Actually, JFK WAS killed by one bullet. Some folks recreated that scene and they actually got an almost identical result as from the actual assassination. Saw it on Discovery or History or something once. Anyway.
Yeah. Something about the bullet traveled through air, traveled through VP's body, which altered the trajectory, then through VP's arm, which again altered trajectory, and finally through P's body. ...or however it went down. All this science and bony material covered by ballistics gel models and period rifle and bullet type and shooting spot and everything. But anyway, yeah. Playstation 9.
I spent a full 30 seconds wishing I could rate comments lol For Conspiracy theories... The universe doesn't fit in a nice neat little box quite yet. Whenever we try to stick it in one, it slips out. As for PS9, interesting site. Someone must have been very bored. The technological aspect, spore nanites(?), could exist by 2079. But I'd like to think that if we perfected nanobot technology, they'd be a lot more impressive than that. They would likely be capable of pulling you into a psuedo-dream environment with absolute realism... as well as giving you super powers.
Ya I remember that! Too bad I'll be dead around that time (2078). I don't want to live when I'm in my 90's; be kind of boring.
Really? You haven't heard of it yet? ...well, in that case, I won't tell you. (Yes, yes, wallow in your own curiosity... yes, yes... your anguish sustains me...) But there's this big thing about how a bunch of prophecies all choose 2012 as the year of some world-changing event - usually in a bad sense. There's this thing about how the Mayan calendar predicts the Earth, Sun, and galactic center (ie the big supermassive black hole at the center of the Milky Way) will all be aligned on December 21, 2012, and that something crazy-massive's gonna happen. Then there's something about some Chinese fortune-telling thing that predicts time ending in 2012... and something else about how spider-bots or some Internet-searching thing originally used to predict stock prices predicts the end of the world in 2012 and stuff... There's a History special on it. It's great stuff.
By the chinese thing, I assume you're referring to Time Wave Zero. A guy named Terence McKenna used the Chinese I Ching to create a timeline. Valley's tend to fall into historical time periods where there is a lot of suffering. Peaks tend to show when there is a historical point where things are going well. They call them Novelty points. There are points before humans existed, as well. On 2012, the time wave ends completely... some call it the infinity point... Am I the only AboveTopSecret forum member here? anyways, there's actually several events that either start or end in 2012-2013.
Seriously? Am I REALLY seeing a debate over a satirical commerical that's roughly ten years old? Realistic? While we're at it, has anyone seen 'The Incredibles'? How did you feel the realism was there? Oh, and JFK was shot with a MAGIC bullet, geez. lol.
Hi, can anyone tell me how long the warranty last for on the ps3 as my lens has went and im about to break the warranty seal. I bought my ps3 in july 2007. Ta
Try the PS3 Hardware forum, this thread is based on a fictional commerical and probably won't offer any assistance.
Drats! Foiled again! And I would've gotten away with it too, if it weren't for that meddlin' KajNrig!
All for you, man. Anyway, uh... Playstation 9. ...actually, Playstation 4. THAT seems like something more worthy of talk, especially if anyone knows about Holographic disc technology. It'd be mighty complicated, though. (As if the current generation isn't complicated enough...)
sony is claiming to only release a console every 10 years. sorry but you might have to wait until 2016 not 2011 :/
...Sony can claim anything they like. As far as I'm concerned, Sony Console A is 'done' when Sony Console B is launched. Sure, it might flail about for another year or two, but it simply becomes a less viable option. Sony is also claiming that the PS2 has a ten year cycle, which is a load. The system came out (here in the US) October 26, 2000. And let's be honest with ourselves, if there are less than twenty decent titles in a year, across all genres (Because most of us don't play ALL of them), the system is basically dead. The PS2 game selection slowed down in 2007. Yeah, it's been seeing stripped down versions of Madden and Rock Band(WAY stripped down!) and a couple lego titles, as well as a few late ports of JRPGs... But that's really about it. Sony released God of War 2 in March of 2007, to make a big stink about how they weren't abandoning the system... and it was basically the last big title on the system from them. Sony managed to push the PS2 for seven years, which is a good run, a very good run. But you can't honestly tell me that it's still a real contender for the current generation of gamers. I mean the thing is showing up at garage sales, and on Craigslist for less than twenty bucks. Even in 2007, God of War was "THE" big title that year, and it was in the first Quarter... That's realistically about 6 1/2 years of shelf life. Sony's claim of ten years doesn't mean that they won't produce a new system... It means they'll keep claiming that the old one is still a good choice, whether it's realistically true or not. My guess is we'll start hearing talk of PS4\New Xbox around 2010\11. Not much sooner than that, save a few rampant and uncredible rumors. And anyways, why is everyone so interested in talking about hardware that's SO far down the road anyways? The way that technology moves, one can't even make a well educated guess about that. Will it be VR? Will it cross the 'uncanny valley' in graphics(No, it won't. Research shows that game companies will actually stop prior to this, for reasons that are purely psychological, and not just because people would run out and shoot eachother... it's found that fantasy doesn't satisfy the escapist gamer as much when it becomes too realistic looking, it doesn't feel like fantasy anymore... Interesting, no?). Maybe they'll be able to utilize more forms of movement from your body, like a much more advanced Wii. Maybe the games will all just stream from a server to your system without using any discs. Maybe it'll have a ten terabyte hard drive, and record every conversation you have nearby it, to send to the industry for market research. lol. Who knows? Bottom line, the 360 and the PS3 are amazing systems... So enjoy them right now! ^_^ Oh, and big brother is watching you.
