    Dear all...

I just purchased a digital camcorder. I need to transfer DVs to my PC.

However, My PC is old (buying a new one is not an option for now).

500MHZ PIII and 128 RAM. It uses windows 98SE.

all I want to do is to transfer video from digital camcorder to PC and burn it. with some basic editing.

Is there a software out there I can use with my system?

    Thanks in advance.

I think first of all you need a faster machine to do a good job, min of 256 RAM.
I have tried almost all editing software and i was impressed using Powerdirector3 from cyberlink, it has a 30 days trial, another program you can try is winprocucer 3 from intervideo.com
    good luck

You should upgrade your RAM. And with 500 Mhz, it will be rough. Anyhow, I use NeroVision express, and it is very good.

Yeah I think you're going to run into some problems trying to edit on that machine. Anyway I have tried windows movie maker, ulead video studio, roxio easy media creator, pinnacle studio 9, sonic mydvd, dvdlab, and vegas 5. Vegas 5 is by far my favorite for editing. Dvdlab for authoring.
