Did your Wii Fit come with ver 3.1J or not. It should be written on the back of the DVD case. If you can paste the photo of the screen you see, I can read it for you since I read Japanese. My Wii fit should be coming in a day or two so I can tell you more.

It says "Remove the controller that is connected to the Wii Remote control" Does the Wii Fit Board connected to the remote or not. I don't know what it exactly it means, but I hope the translation makes sense. if not when I get my Wii Fit tomorrow, I can PM you and tell what's going on.

Guys need to clear some doubts. Im the guy whoose JAP wii was semi blocked by guitar hero 3. I tried SMG jap but no deal. I wish to know if SMG firmware is 3.0 or 3.1????

One other thing if SMG is 3.0 how much time i will pribably have to wait for a game with 3.1???

And again more doubts... If i do the 3.1 update isnt there a chance that the update reconize my wii as moded and brick it totally???

Couls someone please answer these two questions.

    1. Do i need a wireless connection to update my wii?

    2. Can i update my wii safely using a legitimate copy of a game? (i.e Mario Galaxy)

    btw i have a D2CKEY chip, Pal Wii V.2.0

As long as Mario Galaxy is Pal, the update will work with no problems using the original game or a copy.

I have the same console & chip as you, and the update went perfect.

Good news for Wii-j user who got bricked with SMG ntsc-u. Because SMG ntsc-j contains only ver 3.0, it was unable to unbrick SMG ntsu-u. However, I got Wii Fit ntsc-j, which contains ver 3.1J. It unbricked my unit.

Hey guys I have an NTSC wii and downloaded Mario Galaxy " Super_Mario_Galaxy_ReadNFO_Wii-PROMiNENT" did not specify whether it was
NTSC or PAL. It is safe to commence the update?

    guys

silly question i know but is when i try to connect onto the internet with my Japanese Wii (which already has v3.1 in it with Wiikey), i ask (or forces me to update my system.

is this safe (in terms of not bricking my Wii)?

    many thanks

Latest is V3.1J. It will still ask if you want to update. It will check and pop a msg that no new update is available. In short it is safe.

My Japanese Wii that my dad bought in China was semi bricked by Metroid Prime 3: corruption at the time and I need to adjust the settings, does anyone know if there is any Japanese game with a higher update then this so that I can unbrick it. To unbrick a semi bricked wii is just installing a newer update from the same region of the wii no? Does anyone know if this game would unbrick my semi brick Wii?

Sometimes the Updates on the Internet are different from the ones you get from the games.

Internet updates are fine (and safer since it will ensure the correct region firmware), but some discs will still ask you to go through updates adding specific additional capabilities.
