This is the error I'm getting with the last four movies I purchased.
Sweeney Todd; Alvin & The Chipmunks; What Love Is and The Good Night. I haven't had any problems with previous movies. Thanks for any help that can be given!

so your trying to ripp those dvds correct?

most likely since nero 7 is older it wont be able to crack the latest encryption, personal i think nero product are junk and you can go with out them:)

    look here:
    http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/622748

it list free apps for your backup (ripp) and burn, but i suggest using anydvd hd for your ripp

I'm using Nero to burn. I always use DVDFab Platinum for ripping and have had no problems. I think it is the Samsung DVD Burner as the Sony burned the DVD with no problem. I normaly rip using the Sony and burn using the Samsung. Before I got the Sony, the Samsung always gave me a fail error, however the disc burned perfectly. Even though it burns fine, I just don't like seeing the burn fail error and can't seem to understand why it does that on the Samsung where the firmware cannot be updated.

try using imgburn and see if you have the same problem, keeping your burn speed at 4x to 8x max

@ LDLDL, go with the most sagely advice from Tripplite and Zoso. You can't go wrong, unless you don't take it.

Just for clarification Tripp, Nero won't be able to crack the latest encryption or any for that matter...it requires an unprotected source.

Tomorrow is Tuesday and I will be buying some new releases to back up. My question is I am going to use Imgburn for the first time. Will Imgburn start burning the disc automatically after DVDFab (Platinum) rips it or do I have to manually start it? I've already changed the option in DVDFab from Nero to Imgburn.

I do believe that DVDFab has offered Imgburn as a burn option.

    I bought three movies today...
The Water Horse, Lions for Lambs and Reservation Road.
Used Imgburn and had no problems whatsoever!!!!!
I even tried ripping with the Samsung and burning with the Sony and vice versa.... No problems.
All this time I thought it was the Samsung drive when it was Nero that had a problem with the drive.
I'll be using Imgburn from now on.
    Thanks for your help!!!!!!
