I apologize if this has already been mentioned in this forum. I am a newbie trying to teach myself how to encode mainly full divx movies into (ideally) supervcd or vcd compatible mpeg. I have, I think the applications neccesary. (tmpgenc, Adobe Premier, others) The problem I am having is that many of my movies have odd resolutions, such as widescreen dvd-rips (640x272), so that when I reencode them into mpeg, the image is distorted. help?

EDIT: Ok, I actually finished an encode with tmpgenc for the first time and it kept the widescreen format ok, so ignore that first part. The problem I ended up with is audio. There isn't any. Any ideas for what went wrong with my audio encoding from a DIVX to an MPEG-2? Thanks for the help.

I would use Virtual Dub to extract the audio to .wav by clicking file->save wav

then use TMPGenc MPEG tools to mux the video with the wav using simple multiplex.
