No problems burning, just when I watch the dvd, the audio does not match up to the picture. It's almost like while you're watching the movie, the sound is a chapter ahead. Thought it was an issue with just the one that I burned, but then I tried a different one & it does the same thing!! I am clueless, pretty new at this whole thing. Never had this issue before, I've burnt many dvd's with no such issue. Any ideas why this is happening now or what I can do to resolve it??? Thanks in advance!

I burn with Nero 7 on a Dell Laptop, if you need any additional info, please let me know. Thanks again!!

Does your original file play OK?

Yes, when I play the files directly off of my computer, they are fine! Part of the reason I'm so confused as to why the audio messes up while burning. Thanks in advance!

It's something to do with nero..

Try making a dvd with dvdflick and imgburn and see if the same thing happens

It does have something to do with Nero.
Is this a DVD copy or an AVI/mpeg4 conversion with Nero Vision?
If you are using Nero 7, it could have everything to do with Nero codecs. They are unable to handle VBR audio.
Load the avi in GSpot and will tell you if yo have CBR or VBR audio.
If you want to continue to use Nero Vision, disable Nero's codecs. Since the AVI plays fine on your computer, it means you have the proper codecs installed. When you delete/rename Nero's codecs, Nero Vision will use for transcoding the codesc installed on your system.

Rename Nero's audio and video codecs or simply delete them. You can find the codecs at C:\Program Files\Common Files\Ahead\DSFilter\... The audio codec should be called NeAudio2.ax or NeAudio.ax and the video codec should be called NeVideo.ax. You can rename them to whatever you want but would make it something you will recognize in case you have to revert your changes back for some reason.

    EDIT:
You can disable Nero's codecs using the regsvr32 /u command. Easy to reinstall when you wish so.

Let me just say that I am totally new to this. Not brand new, been doing it a few months, but I really only catch on when I hit a hurdle, I guess you could say. I'm not trying to copy dvd's, I download torrents & go to Nero StartSmart, click create your own dvd & follow the instructions. Is it normal for the audio to become an issue after being able to burn with no problems for months? And, I am able to burn other movies just fine. I've only found 3 so far that have that problem when I burn them. So, why do I only have problems with some torrent files and the instructions you gave me, will they fix the 3 that don't work & mess up the ones that do?? As complicated as it seems, I will follow your instructions and try if you tell me that it's what I need to do to resolve my issue. So sorry for my lack of knowledge. Just trying to learn it all without bothering anyone too much!! Thanks once again in advance!!

The problem is when your downloade files have VBR audio, that's when Nero becomes retarded.
I think is does okay if your audio is CBR.

Renaming Nero's audio/video codecs will not mess up the conversion of the files that do work.Just make sure you have a codec pack installed in your syste. K-lite is a popular one. This way Nero will use those codecs instead of its own crippled ones.
If you ae uninstalling using for example
    regsvr32 /u "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Ahead\DSFilter\NeAudio2.ax" , to reinstall it you use regsvr32, without the /u instruction.
So easy way to do it,the files NeVideo2.ax and NeAudio2.ax if using version 7, and rename them to NeVideo.xxx and NeAudio.xxx , or whatever you want to rename them, to.

These files should be in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Ahead\DSFilter

So, I rename both the audio & video codecs?? I'm downloading the K lite codec pkg now. Nero will automatically use it or do I need to do something else? And this should resolve my audio issues? Thanks once again in advance!

Ok, that didn't resolve my issue. I just tried to burn another movie and I'm still having the same issue. This is after I renamed the codecs you directed me to & downloaded the K lite codec package. Any more suggestions?
