I can't burn any dvd! I always get the sema message: buffer too large" and I get the following log:

I spent many hours trying to solve the problem with any success... Is my dvd burner too old for Nero 7? It's a LG 4082BA204 (three years old...) it's a drivers problem, a bug with the programme or...

Any help will be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!!!

****Remove your serial# form your post****

You're using the initial version of nero, which had way too many problems that needded to be corrected, you should install the latest version 7.0.8.2.

    First(write down your serial# for re-entry later):
Remove nero from your system using the general cleantool found here..
    http://ww2.nero.com/nero7/enu/General_CleanTool.html

Next, install nero7 version 7.0.8.2 found here and enter the serial#:
    http://ww2.nero.com/nero7/enu/nero7-up.php#opt2

    *********************************************************************

    Second:
Your burner's firmware is out of date at version A204, you should update it to version A209. Click on the link and enter your burner's model# in the search field (GSA-4082B), click search then click on the A209 choice to download the update, follow the instructions for the install..
    http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_search.php
    *********************************************************************

    Third:
Your burner is not correctly recognizing the brand of media you're using, as shown here:

Insert the disc to write to.
(Medium in drive: DVD-RW. Medium required by compilation: DVD+R/RW; DVD-R/RW; DVD-RAM.)
    This disc is not empty.
(Medium in drive: DVD-RW. Medium required by compilation: DVD+R/RW; DVD-R/RW; DVD-RAM.)
    VMS. Disc was erased successfully.
    Accessing disc...
(Medium in drive: DVD-RW. Medium required by compilation: DVD+R/RW; DVD-R/RW; DVD-RAM.)

    Media Specific [16..63]:
    00 20 10 00 00 00 00 00 - 00 00 03 12 00 00 00 00 ................
    00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 - 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 ................
    00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 - 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 ................

The firmware update might fix this, but if it does not, try using a different brand like Sony DVD+Rs or verbatims, which work well for me.
    *********************************************************************

    Fourth (here):

    === Scsi-Device-Map ===
    DiskPeripheral : ST380020A 3.39 nvidesm Port 0 ID 0 DMA: Off
    DiskPeripheral : ST3160021A 8.01 nvidesm Port 0 ID 1 DMA: Off
    CdRomPeripheral : HL-DT-STCD-RW GCE-8525B 1.01 nvidesm Port 1 ID 0 DMA: Off
    CdRomPeripheral : HL-DT-STDVDRAM GSA-4082BA204 nvidesm Port 1 ID 1 DMA: Off

These devices have DMA turned off, enable DMA for these devices for better performance. Here's how....
    http://www.onthegosoft.com/dma_setting_nt.htm
    *********************************************************************

    Fifth:
Your file sizes are a bit too big, shown here:

*Last possible write address on media: 2297887 (510:38.37, 4488MB)*

Have Shrink or recode cut down on the file size by setting them to create a custom size of 4300MB. In shrink goto:edit-->preferences, in the preferences tab choose custom from the dropdown menu and enter a value of 4300.
    *********************************************************************

    Also:
2x is too slow, bump that write speed up to 4x. Instead of using DVD-RW media try using DVD+/-Rs for DVD backups.
