I have been backing up my personal dvd's for some time. My normal routine is to rip my dvd with "decrypter" or "ripit4me" than shrink with "dvdshrink" than burn with "Nero burning rom" up until a week ago I had absolutly no problemm aside from the occasional decryption malfunction that is normally easily resolved. but as of a week ago suddenly I've been having trouble with closing and finilizing my discs. I get a "redundency check" error or error "closing disc for personal use" error. Any suggestions on how to trouble shoot my problem???????
This error is usually associated with either a dirty or scratched disc or a copy protection those programs cannot handle on thier own. Rip with DvdFab Hd Decrypter which is updated often. Use Dvd Shrink as normal. More information including links and guides is available in the links in my sig.
I no very little so Im not trying to imply that you are worng but the problem im having is only with burning my discs, they rip just fine without any errors.they shrink without any problem these errors are only when attempting to burn a disc. the process will almost finish and then will abort aith an error message "redundency check" or "error closing disc for personal use" on one attempt i even burned the entire movie to the disc and can even play it on a home dvd player.but it did abort and say failed. any way to trouble shoot?????
Can you provide an burn log? Try Imgburn which is Dvd Decrypters updated burn engine. Use good blank media. Taiyo Yuden, Verbatim, or Sony. Burn at 6x to 8x max with no multitasking. EDIT: please edit your thead title to something a little more specific before a mode closes it.
Here is the event log for one of the failed burns 2:40:10 PM Caching of files started 2:40:10 PM Caching of files completed 2:40:10 PM Burn Process started at 4x(5,540 kb/s) 2:43:33 PM Data error(cyclic redundancy check) C:/Movies/THAT70SSHOW_S2_D2.ISO 2:43:33 PM error reading data 2:44:49 PM Burn process failed at 4x(5,540 kb/s) right before trying to burn that70sshow file i just succesfully burned a different movie without any problems.I cant see this being a decryption problem due to the fact that I own and backed up all of that70sshow season 1 and the first disc of season 2 no problems help anyone????????????????????????//
Think I solved my own problem so here is my theory so maybe it will help someone else in a similar situation. on a normal basis while backing up my exstensive collection of home library DVD's, I shrink multiple movies at once. Throughout the whole time i have been shrinking 2 at a time i have never had a problem. I burned three movies in between attempts at burning "THAT70SSHOW" none had any problem until i tried to back up my "MATRIX RELOaded" when this file gave me the same errors i realized that both of these were shrunk simultaniously together and must have been corrupted that way. Thats my theory and thats all folks!!! if the drama continues Ill check back in
