Gamecube Broken ?? My girlfriend's little brother's Gamecube doesn't spin the games anymore. I know that in older systems like the PSX the spindle motor and the laser were one unit . So I went to order the new laser and the bit to take it apart. The picture that Divineo had of the laser didn't look like it contained the spindle motor. Since I don't have the bit to take it apart does anyone know if the motor comes with the laser or do I have to get it repaired somewhere? Any help would be great thanks.
I would actually suggest getting a guide to be honest from somewhere like http://www.ultimateconsoleguides.com .It doesn't cost alot to buy,and if you ever get any more probs you could always resort to the guide to find your cause.I know it sucks paying for it,but is probably well worth it.I was actually thinking about buying it to be honest, because it seems alot more reliable to fix it yourself I think.Rather than shipping your system off to someone to have them fix it,which also costs alot more.I'm sorry I don't have the answer for your problem, but I am sure the guide from the site I listed would be great for problems like this.
Thanks for the help. I think I will be able to repair it though. The gamecube works fine the games just don't spin. Which means the spindle motor went out. I don't have the bit to open the gamecube and find out if the spindle motor and the laser are one unit as in other consoles. I just thought someone might know, that way if it is then I can order the bit and the laser at once.
