    catsee,

Let's have a look at the forum rules. Try to post in a relevant forum next time and lay off the all caps - it's hard in the eyes ;)

    Thread moved.

Your drive is an OEM NEC though I can't determine the exact model. I'd run a search of our forums for NEC and bitsetting, you may find your question has already been answered.

In order to help you we need to know the exact make/model number so open DVD Decrypter and tell us exactly what it lists in the drop down up top where it lists your drive(s).

Ok looks like you have a Samsung SH-S162A TS02. Unfortuantely a some searching didn't turn up any bitsetting options or hacked firmwares for that particular drive.

If bitsetting is important I'd recommend such makers as BenQ, NEC and LiteOn. Just be sure to research the drive to make sure it has bitsetting capability before buying this time ;)

I have a BenQ DW 1655 that's an outstanding drive with bitsetting capabilities.

    Got a link?

Keep in mind you don't have to buy a purpose built external drive. You can buy any drive you want and stuff it in a external encolsure if you wish.
