Problem Please help if you can

Hi I am trying to network unlock my dads phone. Can anybody help me please. I am an ambulance driver in Ireland and my phone broke so my dad is lending me his as I need it for work. The problem is he bought the phone 2 months ago from Vodafone and hasn’t used it as he found his old phone the same day lol. But it’s locked to Vodafone and Vodafone want me to use their network for 30 days to get to code and still want me to pay for it after all that. I need to get my sim working in this phone ASAP. I tried online to get unlock code but any site I use are looking for €60 to do it. Can anybody please help me as I’m desperate at this stage and can’t manage in work without a phone especially on this crisis we are all going through. Please tell me what to do and the best way to do it please and thank you.
