So, I'm trying to burn an avi file to dvd using nero 6, but it's not working. The file was converted from wmv to avi using "any video converter" version 2.7.9. When I try to add this converted file(avi) to nero for burning, I get the error message "file not compatible".
What Nero application are you using? You need to use Nero Vision if you want to make it into a DVD Video compilation, to play on your standalone DVD player. If you have a Divx player, then you use Nero Express and burn a data disc. If you use Nero Vision, and still have the original wmv , I would use that to convert to DVD.
FAVC and DVD Flick (both free) list WMV for source files. I would try them to save going through the AVI step. After the files are converted, test play the output before burning. Both programs include ImgBurn, use it to burn the disk.
