PLEASE HELP ME! LG 4040B Burner

    I am going crazy.

    I have the latest firmware for the LG 4040B and I have the newest ASPI layer also.

    In device manager everything is fine. But no matter what program I use nothing will burn.

    Nero just says "WAITING FOR DRIVE TO BECOME READY"
    CopyToDVD says "Can't connect to hardware access layer (Patin_Couffin or ASPI)"
    DVD Decrypter says "Device Not ready, cause not reportable"

    I was burning DVD's fine with all these programs for like a week, and nothing has changed, and now nothing will work! I feel like crying, I can never get it working right, i have spent all day trying to figure it out with no luck! PLEASE PLEASE HELP ME!

    Are you burning dvd -/+r or dvd ram? I have this burner and I have burnt some dvd's with no issues. Try downloading aspi 4.60

    Aspi 4.60 the best to use? I know it's not the latest...but is that what is needed for this drive? (I too have a 4040B with issues)

    What OS are you running? My LG works fine with XP and no ASPI has been installed. I use Decrypter, Nero 6, and InstantCopy 8. If you are [bold]absulutely[/bold] positive nothing has changed (no programs added or uninstalled, viruses, reg cleanings etc.) it may be that your LG is defective.

    And Wizerd, what types of issues?
