Please Help me out I am Noob!!!!!

Hello guys its been a long time. I starts my Ps2 after 6 months but an unfortunate problem is happening now when I try to play any game its shows me the garbage with the graphics. I am using HDL 8.0c with 40 GB Seagate. I connect my PS2 via TV device like when I wanted to connect my Ps2 I simply switch my Tv device to AV function thats it. I also tried to format and reinstall all games and HDL but problem is still there . I am so much confuse that I going to give up. You guys always help me in hard times and I hope that I never came back without solution from you. Thank you
