    Country the phone was purchased in : Australia
    Provider the phone is locked to( not what the current sim is) : 3G Australia

    Can only be unlocked by original service provider.

    but the provider says its permanentlly locked on to 3G service australia

    Hi,

    I too have the same phone with the same problem.
    I heard from someone that Hutchinson had delted some Nokia software on the phones and replaced it with there own. :(

    Also, they have no intention or plan or releasing the information to unlock them.

    The annoying part of this is, that I was sold the phone by 3, being told I could use a UK sim in it when I got home. No luck.

    Brand new brick ???
