    i have 12 episodes (avi's) totalling 2.22 GB.

the total time length is : about 300 minutes for all.

what should I do to get them onto dvd ? (there are permanent subtitles on the eps so i dont want to loose quality)

will all the episodes fit on a few dvd's ? ..i've been reading the guides but im just confussing myself lol

12 episodes at best when converted to DVD compliant files will take approx 4 DVD's 6 if you want no quality loss at all. This is assuming each episode is 45min not sure though because you didnt say? 12 only goes into 300 25 times though so are they only 25min episodes? Point is once converted you can get about 100 min worth on one DVD and still retain quality.

Here is a guide that shows you how to do it http://home.comcast.net/~bbmayo/DivXtoDVD.pdf

If these AVI files are Low resolution AVI files say for instance 320+240 then I would suggest you encode them to Mpeg-2 at 352+240 useing a Bitrate of about 1500KBs then you will be able to Fit all 300 Minutes on a Single DVD-R with better quality than if you encoded them to 720+480 and Put them on Multiple DVD"s....

This is because Resizeing Low resolution files to a High Resolution will Greatly degrade the Quality and will Amplify any flaws in the Video, were keeping the Resolution Fairly Low means you don"t Loose Quality from the Resizeing and you need about 1/4 the Bitrate to encode at that resolution than if encodeing to 720+480.....

wow. that sounds great minion...but ahh how would I do that ? lol

I usually just use divxtodvd, dvd shrink, nero, dvd decrypter for most everything.

what program would I use to do what u mentioned ? and is there a guide so I know exactly how to do it ? I would like to use only 1 or 2 dvd's...but how can 300 minutes fit on only 2 Minion ?

(also :how do I find out the resolution of my avi's ?)

thank you ! very good info :)

You can Find out the Resolution just by right clicking the File and going to "Properties" and under "Summary" it will tell you what the Resolution and Bitrate and audio Sample Rate and audio format and the Length of the File are.......

To put them all on one Single DVD you will have to use a Good Standalone Mpeg encoder like Tmpgenc or the MainConcept encoder or Canopus procoder....

If you can get back to me with the Resolution and Frame Rate of these AVI files and what encoder you are going to use then I can tell you how to set them up for encodeing so that they all Fit on a single DVD...

    Cheers
