when i turn on my pc, it always goes to a screen where it prompts me to choose : Safe Mode Safe Mode With Command Prompt Start Windows Normally Start Windows With Good Configuration that works. something like that. but none of them work, after i choose one, after about 10 seconds my pc will restart, and go back to the screen to ask me to choose. my friend had something simliar like that on his pc, he told me to use spinrite, which i did, and to no avail, so can anyone please tell me how to fix it? much appreciated

I think using "System Restore" would work. Booting into safe mode doesn't work you say? Well, you may need to re-install XP if you can't get to system restore or anything. You should take out the hard drive and put it in another PC and backup all the important files onto a backing storage medium, like a USB drive/DVD/CD/Blu-ray/external hard drive, then format and re-install windows and put all the important files back on.
